First date (and beyond) Kim always wore makeup and made a mean morning-after breakfast. Wife Kim passes on makeup unless she’s leaving the apartment and lets Rory handle breakfast. (What can I say? He’s a better cook than I am!)
Of course there are walls that come down as a relationship progresses. Rory’s watched me drain blisters on my feet after running a half marathon and seen me through a hangover stomach virus or two.
And still, I appreciate that we still have some boundaries. I wait ’til he’s out for the night to pluck my brows and he maintains some light manscaping—although I’ve never seen him wield an electric razor anywhere lower than his neck. Oh, and we both always keep the bathroom door closed. Thank god. Obviously I know what’s going on back there, but I don’t want a front-row seat. No matter how long we’re married.
